Bronx-Lebanon’s Pediatric Asthma Center has been widely recognized and
acknowledged as a leader in the treatment of this disease. It has also
become a haven for the community’s young asthma sufferers. This
state-of-the-art, child-friendly facility includes modern consultation,
treatment, and educational rooms, as well as an expanded lobby and visitor
areas.
Among the key components of the Pediatric Asthma Center are a full
educational program, evaluation and treatment by pulmonary specialists,
allergists, and pediatric nurse practitioners, as well as one on one
teaching, 24-hour telephone availability, emergency appointments, and
on-site social workers. It is in the classroom where young asthma sufferers
learn how to identify “asthma triggers,” as well as utilize peak flow
meters, and when necessary, prescription drugs.
