The
Department of
Pediatrics at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center welcomes you to our Pediatrics
Residency Program. Ours is a program with a strong emphasis on primary
care in General Pediatrics. Over a three-year period, residents are
exposed to the management of issues related to normal growth and
development in the pediatric population. At the same time, working in the
acute care setting, as in the emergency room, the general pediatric floor
and the intensive care units rounds off their education, so that
graduating residents are able to provide comprehensive care to children.
Educating a
new generation of pediatricians is our foremost priority. We are a
teaching affiliate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Most of the
faculty at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in the Department of
Pediatrics holds a teaching appointment at the College.
Subspecialty faculty on staff in the
Department, and at the Montefiore Medical Center provides a comprehensive
pediatric education to residents. Residents who complete the training
program are thus fully prepared for and expected to successfully take the
certifying examination administered by the American Board of Pediatrics.
